Step-by-step: How to create a professional lineup graphic
The starting lineup is one of the most important posts before every match – whether you’re playing in a local league or at a higher level.
With Spieltag.Studio, you can create it either as a classic formation schema or as a modern player-image layout.
This tutorial walks you through both options step by step.
1. Open the lineup builder
After logging in, go to the left sidebar in your dashboard and choose:
👉 Lineup
This opens the lineup editor.
2. Select your Matchday post
To create a lineup, a Matchday post must already exist.
The lineup editor automatically imports:
- Opponent
- Competition
- Date & kickoff time
This ensures that all your graphics stay visually consistent.
ℹ️ Note:
Without an existing Matchday post, you cannot create a lineup.
3. Select players & use the player management
For each player, Spieltag.Studio stores:
- Name
- Shirt number
- Position
- Photo
These details are used automatically in the lineup editor.
Number of players by sport
If you don’t use a formation schema, you can freely choose how many players appear in your lineup:
👉 Starting 1 to 15 players, depending on sport and team size.
Examples:
- Football: 11 players
- Handball: 7 players
- Futsal: 5 players
- Basketball: 5 players
- and more
4. Choose your design: Schema or Player Image
You can choose between two completely different layout styles:
A) Formation Schema (field + positions + formation)
Perfect for football teams who want a classic tactical-style lineup.
⚽ Current note:
The schema design currently supports football only.
Additional sports (handball, futsal, basketball, volleyball, etc.) will be added in the future.
4A. Choose formation
If you select a schema template, you can choose your formation:
- 4-3-3
- 4-2-3-1
- 3-5-2
- and more
The player positions are placed automatically according to the formation.
5A. Adjust design (Schema)
The schema design currently has no additional design controls.
The template is intentionally fixed to ensure clarity and consistency.
- The formation determines the exact player positions
- There are no color or layout customization options
B) Player Image Design (modern social-media layout)
Perfect for Instagram — a large portrait photo becomes the visual highlight.
4B. Select a player photo
Choose a portrait shot of one player. This is ideal for:
- The captain
- Key players
- Emotional storytelling
5B. Add additional elements
The layout automatically includes:
- Club logo
- Opponent logo
- Match information
- Colors & club design
- Coach (if defined)
👤 Coach information:
The coach name is managed in Club Profile → Team.
If no coach is entered, the coach section is hidden automatically.
6B. Adjust design (Image layout)
You can customize:
- Color scheme / gradient
- Image crop & focus
- Highlight graphics
