Remove or Replace Backgrounds with AI – Spieltag.Studio

Not every club photo has the perfect background – a phone snapshot from training, a logo with a white box around it, or a player photo that just lacks a real "wow" factor.

That's why Spieltag.Studio has two AI tools built right into the editor: Remove Background (cutout) and Replace Background (AI generation). In this article, we'll show you the difference and how to use both.

Where do I find these features?

Both tools are available right where you upload an image – including in:

Matchday graphics
Result and lineup graphics
Player introductions
Man of the Match

As soon as you upload a player photo or logo, the relevant options appear right below it.

1. Remove Background (Cutout)

This feature makes the background of an image transparent – perfect if you want to use your own design, gradient or background image instead.

For Logos

When uploading an opponent's logo, simply enable automatic background detection. It detects light backgrounds and removes them cleanly – no extra tool required.

For Player Photos

After uploading a player photo, click:

The AI automatically cuts out the person.

💡 Tip: You'll get the best results with a photo showing a single person clearly in the foreground. Group photos, obscured subjects or busy backgrounds can lead to an imperfect cutout.

2. Replace Background (AI Generation)

Want to do more than just cut out the background – and give your player a whole new stage? That's what Generate Background is for.

After uploading a player photo, pick a style:
